The hardcover edition of AT THE END OF THE DAY I BURST INTO FLAMES is now available for pre-order via Rooster Republic Press. You can find it at this LINK. Or, simply send $36 through PayPal (roosterrepublicpress@gmail.com) and include your preferred shipping address in the “notes” section! Books should begin shipping after February.
The paperback will be made available in March and will retail for about $15. It will be available through the typical venues, but should be something you can order via big-box retail or your local library. Hopefully, the book has an easier time finding an audience this go around.
AT THE END OF THE DAY I BURST INTO FLAMES is the first of what is (hopefully) a series of my earlier written work seeing reprint. But, that’ll only happen if this release performs well. I am perfectly at ease keeping my stuff out of print. This is partly because it will allow me to bring more to the proverbial table should I go scouting for representation or publication through a larger publishing house. Of course, this will only happen if I, you know, finish a new book or two (or three).
Happy to report that I have been working on new manuscripts. I am still reading comps and research material for A REAL HOWLER and THE BODY IS A MACHINE THAT MAKES GHOSTS, but I have actually cracked open a third manuscript that requires no comp or research. The as-yet-untitled book is a noir about an animator searching for whoever is creating a series of animated snuff films, all featuring a popular animated character called Red Little. The elevator pitch is basically WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT meets 8MM.
But I’ll be working on all three projects throughout the next year or three. And, on the back burner, a translation of Franz Kafka’s THE METAMORPHOSIS that I am chipping away at. Plus, editing TWO-THOUSAND WORD TERRORS and overseeing production on a reprint of Hailey Piper’s THE POSSESSION OF NATALIE GLASGOW, both projects for Rooster Republic/Strangehouse Books.
2023 is gonna keep me busy!
